Well, I did it! I completed my first 5k race! My sister-in-law ran with me. I actually pulled/tore my hamstring (I thought it was my groin at first). That's why I have the bandage. I did this on Thursday. I was so upset with myself that after all that work, I got injured right before the event. I still did it, though. I would have gone faster had I not gotten hurt, but the point is that I did it. :)
I can't wait for my next race! I am not signed up for one yet. There are a couple color runs in August. I will probably do one of those. I was considering finding a race in June, but with the injury and all, I think I will take it easy. I also had some dental work today, so between that and the leg, I will probably be out for the rest of the week. I might run Friday. We'll see.
Today was Emma's last day of school. She is officially a 2nd-grader. She got all A's again. I'm so proud of her! She also got the Physical Education Outstanding 1st Grader award, in addition to honor roll, at the awards ceremony that her school held last week.
