Trying to get things together

     In the past few days, I have been trying to get things together for Emma's Halloween costume. She is going to be Cleo de Nile From Monster High (the "Ghouls Rule"). Getting the costume has been fairly difficult. For one thing, they usual costume sold for Cleo de Nile is an entirely different look. Emma doesn't want that costume. And even online, I haven't found even one pre-made Cleo Ghouls Rule costume.

This is the inspiration:

 

     I started by going to about 6-8 places looking for the golden top part (first I was thinking a dress- like a mini-dress, preferably). After having no luck, I started looking for more of a tunic or long shirt, esp. in women's section. At the last store I went to for the top, I had an idea. Thus far, I had not found one gold shirt or dress! There were sweaters, but that really wasn't right for this look. I got a black cami and a beige/cream shirt for Emma to try on. She'll probably go with the black, bc of the cut. Then, I will use the "metallic gold fabric paint" on it to make it..... gold! I hope it works as well as I think it will, lol. Then, later, I'll add some turquoise to top to look like the doll's top.

      I got some tulle for the skirt part of the dress. Hopefully I'll be able to make this.. and look good, that is. Also have turquoise thick ribbon for bottom of gold and strips hanging down. We got hair coloring, and make-up. Now we just have to add a bit of gold jewelry!
