in another week...

Emma will start Kindergarten. She starts July 25th. That is crazy. It is crazy that she is old enough for kindergarten, and crazy that they start July 25th, lol.

Really, though, she has been ready for this for awhile. She's starting at almost 6 (well, 5 7/12... lol). I was 4 3/4 when I started. Times (and K cut-offs) have changed, though. I do think it'll be better to not be the youngest one in class. She wouldn't be the smallest, even if she was 4. She's always been in the 95%tile (or higher) for height.

We have been stocking up on school supplies. We recieved the supply list during registration in April, but I was waiting for the sales. We only have a few more items left, such as Clorox wipes and Kleenex.

Emma will be attending a different school than pre-k, because her old school is all the way across town. It used up a lot of gas going back and forth 2x per day. This school is about 1/2 mile away (maybe). We could walk if we wanted. Maybe when it isn't so hot and humid.

Emma is excited to start school. She's always enjoyed school. She's smart, and knows most of the stuff they teach, as far as numbers, letters, etc. She loves being around other kids. She does feel shy when she's around a bunch of new kids. I don't know where on Earth she got that.

This next week I am going to try to make the most of the time off. Swimming, parks, and other fun (but free or close) activities like that. I also need to work on keeping her sleeping schedule somewhat consistent.
