We are a little more than halfway through Emma's 2-week spring break. We have been going to the Y a lot. We have mostly been swimming. Emma is taking private lessons, and will be starting the group lessons in a couple of weeks. We have also been swimming together a lot. She has improved so much. I'm glad. I always loved swimming, and the more experience and the more confidence she gets, the more enjoyable it is. She has also been able to use the treadmill next to me a few times. The official age is at least 9 to be allowed in that room, but she is a big 7. So far nobody has asked. I make sure to watch her carefully so she doesn't get hurt, of course.

I have been reading a lot in the past two (or so) months. I have always loved reading, but sometimes way too much time passes in between books. I am starting one after another, though. Much better than tv, for a multitude of reasons. The book I am currently reading is Jodi Picoult's The Storyteller. It is really good. I may write more about it when I'm done.

Today we are going to see a movie ("Oz: The Great and Powerful").

Basketball ended a few weeks ago. She had a great season. Too bad they don't do a spring and fall season, like they did in soccer.

  1. awwwww!! I can't believe how quickly she's growing up. I love all of the encouragement of exercise too. Does swimming help your health?

  2. Yeah, I can't believe it, either!
I do try to keep her involved in activities and exercise. I do try really hard to NOT make it seem like a "bummer," or something unpleasant. Trying to just encourage these fun activities to do, which also make us healthier and feel better.
Yes, swimming is a good option for me, health-wise. Some of the higher impact exercises can bother my joints. Swimming is always a good stand-by. Sometimes I go too long without doing it (or anything, for that matter, lol).
