the last weeks of "summer"

Even though it is the heat of the season, as far as we are concerned, summer is almost over. By this I mean, Emma starts pre-k in about 1 1/2 weeks, on July 26th.

We plan on visiting Cat next Thursday (right?), and she has a pool and stuff, so that is good.

Also, we are FINALLY setting up a pool in our backyard. We had ones other years, but needed a new one. We went to 5 stores yesterday. No pools. Well, other than itty-bitty 4 inches of water, or $500+ pools. And there were only a few of those. We were surprised that nobody had pools. Emma was very disappointed, and we felt bad. We decided to order one. I told her that we were going to have to order the pool and have it delivered. Later in the night, I found out that she was expecting the pool that night. She was thinking like pizza delivery, where you get your order in less than an hour. :(

Before ordering one, my mom offered to check Target on her way home from work in Nashville. She went to 2 targets, actually. It's a good thing she did, because she found one! They had a few viable options, but we decided on one. I hope the set-up goes okay and that Emma can go in it tomorrow!

I will be updating, of course.

  1. I love how we make statements and ask questions about/to one another in our blogs, lol. Wednesday or thursday sounds fantastic! And hope to get to keep you girls for more than a day and a half for once. After all, we do have lots to do; and you have a person to meet :D. Glad you got a pool! Even though as a former "pool care specialist" those easy set pools were the bain of my existence, lol. And I can't WAIT to see you!

  2. well, shit. Just commented, but it didn't post.

    So what I said was:
yeah, well, if I call you with a pool problem, would it be in poor taste (or whatever...) to call you? :P

Can't wait to see you! So excited.

I said more, but can't remember atm. Boo.
