Brian is 9 days (well 8..) post-surgery, and doing better. Still some soreness, and a few other issues, but much better than he was.
I got Emma's acceptance letter for pre-K last week. So that will be starting in about a month (7/26). I ordered some new "school clothes" for her, and she has new shoes and all that good stuff.
I had a rough time earlier in the week. Sunday, I felt very sore and hurting, tired, achy, even had a "fever" (99.9- for those who don't know, my norm is upper 96's up to 97.6. Almost Nothing gets it high, even if I feel like I'm dying). I was worse Monday. I went to my dr. on Tuesday after another appt., and was seen by a new (to me) dr. He looked at my file, asked what was wrong, and said, "you have lupus. That is an arthritis-like condition. You are sometimes going to have some pain." Really?? Gee, thanks for that, doc.!!!
I told him this was not normal for me. I also mentioned pain around my kidneys. He punched my upper back, both sides, then my kidney. OW! Wtf!! I told him it hurt. Ass. He decided to check my urine and blood. I did not have bacteria or other abnormalities. The CBC was normal. He also ran an ANA, RF, ESR, etc. He explained these like I was a toddler. I despise that.
He told me that the other tests wont be in till Friday, so to come back Friday or Monday. I'm like," okay, but what should I do in the meantime?" He said, "you are low on vitamin D." Yes, i know. I am the one who requested the test last time. He told me to take vitamin D. I had an appt scheduled for July 1, but came in early bc I was feeling so terrible. I was in major pain. He told me, as his only solution, was to take vitamin D. Thanks a lot.
I was just so pissed and frustrated. I need pain meds or something. It seemed like I was sick, and after an hour and a half, I was told to go buy vitamin d.
I did get some vitamin d, and have been taking it, but geez.
Oh, and guess what! I got an email last night, generated from the dr. office, saying labs were in. My ANA was positive, would you believe that?!? (it has always been positive, since my first time getting it tested 2 years ago).
